I wrote my first real song
when I was about 9 years old. It was only one verse long and had
no chorus...but it was a song. I only knew a few chords on the
guitar at that time, but it was more than enough. That was a
defining moment in my life and music was a part of it.
From that moment on music
was a focal point of my daily routine. Along with toys and
building forts, I was building the skills necessary to further
my love of music. Throughout high school I stayed very involved
in music and fine arts. Joining every choir possible, I kept
quite busy. Along with theater, my band, talent shows, and jazz
band, I worked my way through to All-State Choir and on to be
voted "Most Musical" my senior year in high school. After
graduation I chose to pursue music even further by attending
college to build and repair guitars, study music theory,
composition and guitar performance.
Over the next few years I
studied independently, playing with several small ensembles and
teaching guitar. Then rather suddenly I got an opportunity to
perform with a touring show band. The next year was one show
after another playing casinos and club venues. Life on the road
was taking its toll and I made the decision to settle down, get
married and be a family man.
This brings me to where I
am now. I couldn’t stay away forever.
I have two loves in this
world.
My family...and music.
